Catalogued as M101, the Pinwheel is a nice face-on spiral galaxy. It lies in the northern constellation Ursa Major (The Big Bear), at a distance of 25 million light-years from Earth. It is approximately 170 millon light years arcoss and one of the largest visible galaxies in the sky.
